About

Carrot and green apple juice is a refreshing and nutritious drink that can be easily prepared. It is loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

It is important to remember that consuming carrot and green apple juice should be done in moderation, as it contains natural sugars that can add up in calories. To maximize the benefits and avoid added sugars and preservatives often found in commercial juices, it is best to use fresh, organic ingredients and make your own juice.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 large carrots

  • 2 green apples

  • 1/2 lemon (optional, for added tang)

  • 1-inch piece of ginger (optional, for added zing)

  • 1 Figi Apple (optional to balance out the tartness of the green apples)

  • small pinch of salt (optional, to balance out the sweetness of the apple juice)

Preparation

  • Gather Organic Produce

    • Non-Organic please be sure to soak/clean thoroughly to remove all of the pesticides and chemicals.

  • Clean using water, 2-3TBS of Baking Soda, 1 Cup of Distilled Vinegar.

    • Soak 10-15 mins and rinse (20 mins with an extra rinse for Non-Organic)

  • Dice Produce (size depends on the feed opening of your juicer)

Optional Items (these are for taste preference. Juice is delicious without it and the way I make it 95% of the time. The optional items are a great way to add a little variety without messing with the main focus of the Juice combo.

Mix juice well and enjoy! If you batch prep like I do, be sure to have some storage jars on hand.

Batch Prep Storage Tips:

  • Fill your jars up to the very top before placing your lid on tight. This will allow your juices to remain fresh and keep their potency much longer. The less air, the better.

  • Use glass jars. It's the healthiest choice, (not all plastic is as clean as some manufacturers are claiming.) Plastic is okay if that's all that you have. Storage jars can be pricey, but you can also re-cyle your glass jars from other foods. (ie: pasta, jelly, jams, honey, sauces, etc.)

I use a PURE Juicer which is a 2-Step Cold Pressed juicing machine. Read more about it HERE.
